Dr. J. Garrett Harper attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia where he served as class president and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha – a medical honor’s society recognizing the top 5% of physicians in the country. It was during medical school that Dr. Harper’s interest in plastic and reconstructive surgery became his passion.
After completing medical school and his residency in general surgery, Dr. Harper was selected to train in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Emory University. As a resident, he was awarded the travel scholarship by the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation (ASERF) and had the great fortune of being sent to Paris, France to study under internationally-recognized icons in the field. In Paris, Dr. Harper adopted different techniques and approaches to many plastic surgery procedures that he has refined and offers to his patients today.
Dr. Harper has been in the Charlotte area since 2012 and has garnered the reputation as one of the most compassionate and gifted plastic and reconstructive surgeons. His dedication to women battling breast cancer is one of his major passions, as he strives to bring hope and encouragement at a difficult time.
